How Rankings Work
Earn Your Rank. Own Your Performance.
The RIP Golf Tour uses a precision rating system built for competitive fairness. Every verified round feeds into your RIP Rating and Tour Points total, moving you up — or down — the standings in real time.
RIP Rating
Your RIP Rating is a dynamic performance index calculated from your handicap-adjusted net scores across all submitted rounds. It rises with strong finishes and adjusts downward with weaker performances — keeping competition honest and rankings reflective of your true current game.
Tour Points
Tour Points are awarded based on your finishing position in each weekly tournament and championship event. Higher-tier events award bonus multiplied points. Accumulate enough Tour Points in a season to qualify for the RIP National Championship and VIP Elite events.
Milestones & Achievements
As you compete, you unlock achievements that mark your progress — from your first verified round to Top 10 streaks, season titles, and 100-round milestones. Certain achievement thresholds also grant automatic qualification for championship-level events and exclusive Elite membership perks.
How often does my RIP Rating update?
After every verified score submission, usually within 24 hours of round completion. What counts as a verified score?
Scores submitted with GPS or attestation by a playing partner, reviewed against your handicap index. Outlier scores are flagged for review. How do Texas and National rankings differ?
Texas Rankings reflect performance among all registered Texas-based players. National Rankings aggregate all players across every state region. What does it take to qualify for the RIP National Championship?
Players must accumulate a minimum threshold of Tour Points during the active season and hold an active Pro or Elite membership.
